I haven't blogged about our travels since we left London almost three years ago. Since then, we've been lucky enough to travel to St. Thomas, USVI, New York City, and San Francisco. This summer we are gearing up for our first trip to Disney in 5 years! The last time the kids set foot on Disney property they were 7, 4, and not quite 2. Our youngest doesn't have any memories of it. So, we figured we would take them to Disney this year. This should be the best one yet--no naps, no strollers, and all will have vivid memories at now ages 12, 9, and almost 7! Plus, they are really into riding the big, fun rides! We decided to head out to Orange County, California and do Disneyland and California Adventure instead of Disney World in Florida. The reasoning was simple: We had already been to Disney World a few times but never Disneyland AND I don't do Florida in the summer!
I have our itinerary all set. We get in late on the day we arrive, so the next day we are going to rent a car and drive to the beach. Our kids love the beach and we figured it would be a great, relaxing start to the vacation. The next day we are going to Disneyland and the day after that California Adventure. Both are owned by Disney so we will just need two day passes for both. It never ceases to amaze me how much tickets to Disney are: $826 for our family of 5 for two days' worth of admission to the parks. The last full day in Orange County we are going to check out Downtown Disney.
The kids made travel journals over spring break and it will be a great way for them to write down their memories of the day and look back on it when they are older. We plan to do this for every trip from here on out. I also read this book and bookmarked important information:
I signed up for their touring plans and hope it works! It gives you an optimized plan to ride the rides you want with minimal waiting. According to the book you can reduce your ride wait time by 4 hours!
So, it's T-12 days till departure. We are excited!
